I finally did it. After procrastinating for almost two months, I saw a few inspirational posts on Twitter and took the leap despite not feeling ‘ready’ and still not knowing how best to move this project forward. However, waiting until things are perfect is the known saboteur of any goals and plans. Odds are, I will never feel ready and without starting, I won’t work out which direction to move in and how to make this all work. So this introductory post is both a celebration – yay for taking that first step forward – and an apology as things will be a little chaotic and confusing as I slowly work out how to make things work. While this newsletter is intended to reduce the chaos, the fact remains that my life is a little all-over-the-place and that confusion will be reflected here. I am at a crossroad, but I also desire a life that is full of crossroads and that tends to muddle anything designed to direct and inform.

Direction and information are the intended goal of this newsletter/blog, but I also hope to keep things real and down-to-earth. Rest assured, all posts here are written by a human and photos shared will be taken by me or traditional stock footage from Canva – there’s no AI in my little corner of the internet despite my love of em dashes. While this newsletter is created to share my work, adventures and availability, I have not quite worked out how to best approach this as I am also someone with spoons in many pots, and I want to include the entire kitchen in this endeavour. As a result, odds are high that certain pots will be lidded and clarifying information can be sought via email, while other posts – primarily associated with online work – can be open for all to see. The second reason for this newsletter/blog is to safeguard against some of the upcoming changes to the internet, primarily concerning access to certain sites as well as the continually changing challenges of the algorithms when it comes to the NSFW sphere. As many can attest, views are down, and reach appears to be artificially limited even for those who invest in the blue ticks. With the upcoming age restriction bans in early December (some of which have already started), I suspect there will be a fair number of people who will not want to provide government photo ID to social media sites, or download the digital ID, so I wanted to have a backup to keep in touch and remain contactable outside of the primary social media pages. Going old school and returning to blogs appears to be an ideal solution for somebody who enjoys both yapping and writing, and the newsletter feature allows a safe and discrete way to send information directly to your inbox. No uploaded ID required.

Originally, I had hoped that Discord could fill this potential void, however Discord is on the age-ban list and my server has enjoyed an active chat that may have understandably been muted by those who don’t desire to hear a dozen pings per day. Discord will remain the best place to see promotional material and timed specials, and it is free to join as long as you’re 18+ – there is a high chance that you will see boobs on my server. Thirdly, I enjoy writing and sharing my personal adventures but I am also wanting to decrease my screentime and avoid the trap that is doomscrolling. While taking small measures such as deleting the twitter app and keeping my phone out of my bedroom has helped, I’ve found that whenever I “pop” online to post a promotional post, I get swept up in the siren’s call and easily lose an hour or two to scrolling. I hope that switching to blogs will encourage me to spend less time online, as I can read friends/mutuals posts in one location and avoid the distractions splattered around the timeline. I also like the idea of newsletters as a medium to share more than one post at a time – you can include photos of your recent adventures, announce new sessions and videos, post a streaming schedule and perhaps include a fun recipe or seasonal craft all within the same email/post. In short, in an era where attention is currency, you can get more bang for your buck when there isn’t a character limit restricting you to one topic per post.

While this newsletter/blog will appear relatively vanilla, posts stating travel can double as a tour announcement. If I post regarding plans to visit Brisbane/Gold Coast/Sydney/etc, please consider this an invitation to reach out if you desire a personal session within the city stated.
